When reporting an issue, providing a fresh Exception file is essential. If one wasn’t created, describing the issue in high detail is required, as well as including basic information about your game (at least the game version).

Exception files are located in The Sims 4 Documents folder (\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4).

How To Send LastException Files

Exception files are being created when an error occurs in the game, caused by mods or the game itself. If one was just created and you want to receive help quickly, sending it is necessary.

Exception files are located in The Sims 4 Documents folder (\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4).

The most important file is called ’lastException.txt’ and ‘WonderfulWhims_Exception.txt’. Files ‘lastCrash.txt’ and ‘lastUIException.txt’ are not useful when reporting, but are worth mentioning.

Always send the most recently created file, since that will most likely be related to your issue. Sending anything older might be misleading and waste time.

And if your game is outdated, it’s very likely you won’t receive any help because you simply need to update.

Via E-Mail

Simply include the Exception file as an attachment.

Via Forum

Use a text sharing service like PasteBin or Rentry. Open the Exception file in any text editor application, select and copy everything, paste it at the text sharing service website, and Create a New Paste. Afterwards, copy the website address of your shared file and include it in a message.

If the Exception file is too big to share it, copy just the bottom half of it. Make sure the shared file is not set to private.

Never send the content of an exception file directly in any post, email, comment or chat.
